A Guide To The Right Make Up Brush

Brushes here and brushes there, but which ones do I have and which ones should I buy? Here is a list of all the brushes you will ever need.

There are many different types of brushes out there, some for your face, your eyes and even brows. These make-up tools are vital when it comes to perfecting your look.
Brushes are made from different materials. Some make-up artists wouldn't go past a brush made with sable, goat or badger hair as they claim that they are fantastic in regards to application. If you don’t like the idea of using animal products even though most brush manufacturers are keeping in mind the safety of the animal, by guaranteeing no animal being harmed, you may choose to purchase a brush made from synthetic fibre. Synthetic fibre brushes have come a long way and are just as good, sometimes I think they are even better. The choice is yours.
Fan Brush Fan Brush – A multi-purpose brush – for mask applications, blush or to highlight cheek bones and remove excess powder.
Kabuki Brush – For the application of mineral make-up to be used in a circular motion or downward strokes.
Fan Brush Angled Eye Brush – This brush can be used to define your eyes, used with gel or mineral eyeliners or even along your crease, making it easy to get a more precise line.
Fan Brush Eye-shadow Brushes
Large – Used to apply eyeshadow or mineral veil to all over lid and upper eye.
Small – Used to apply eyeshadow for highlighting the lid.
Fan Brush Blush Brush – The most common brush and is a must have for everyone, used for applying blush, liquid foundation and powder foundation.
Lip Brush – Used to apply lip stick and give more control over your application
Fan Brush Mascara Wand – Used apply mascara to your lashes. – Tip never pump your mascara as it lets air into your product reducing the shelf life, simply place wand into product and turn.
Fan Brush Brush sets – An all in case of brushes for the modern girl, containing a foundation brush, blush brush, eye-shadow brushes, angled brush, lip brush and mascara wand. Fantastic for travelling.

Now that we've got that sorted, you should always clean your brushes after every use, if you’re using your brushes on more than one person. This is to avoid cross contamination of bacteria. If however you’re using the brushes on yourself then it’s up to you or at least once a month. It is always a good idea to purchase a special solvent especially made for brushes and follow the directions. Another way to wash your brushes is with shampoo, it’s your preference. Use a small towel to absorb as much moisture as possible. Shape your brushes into how you would like them to look when dry and always dry them on their side.

You can purchase disposable wands if you are using them on other people to avoid eye infections as it’s hard to clean wands and though not relevant to this blog, you can sharpen eye and lip pencils to clean them also.

Good luck with your brush journey and to a world of looking fab!

THE BEAUTY, HEALING AND RESTORATIVE MINERAL

MSM is known to be highly effective in joint health, muscle recovery, sports nutrition, immune support, and healthy ageing.

What is MSM?

MSM (Methyl Sulphonyl Methane or Dimethyl Sulfone) is an organic sulphur compound found in all living organisms. It is the purest and most bio-available form of sulphur, one of the essential minerals crucial to life and the regeneration of cells. MSM has traditionally been taken as a food supplement to increase joint health for peak flexibility and mobility, as well as for strong hair and nails, beautiful skin, and numerous other health conditions from leaky gut syndrome to damaged joints, mild arthritis, osteoporosis, and psoriasis. MISMO is the first premium skincare range to harness MSM’s highly beneficial properties.

How does MSM work at the cellular level?

Collagen is the principal structural protein holding the skin together and is largely responsible for the skin’s mechanical properties.  Sulphur is integral to the production of collagen and elastin, and MSM is a source of organic Sulphur.

Approximately half of the body's sulphur content is found in the skin, muscles, cartilage and bones.

How can MSM benefit your skin, hair and nails?

  • Protecting collagen against collagen degrading enzymes
  • Reducing fine lines and wrinkles by boosting collagen and elastin production
  • Boosting the natural production of Glutathione, the body's key cellular anti-oxidant ... as an anti-oxidant MSM will boost the immune system and reduce pigmentation and cellular damage
  • Acting as an anti-inflammatory agent by reducing the production of cytokines (compounds that cause inflammation)
  • Providing the body with the raw materials needed to create new cells, and to repair damaged ones
  • Maintaining skin cell membrane flexibility and permeability, promoting an efficient exchange of nutrients and waste products, to help keep skin clear
  • Helpking to maintaining the body's pH balance

How can MSM help with joint health and  support?

As we age, joint pain becomes more and more frequent. MSM helps reduce inflammatory responses and swelling that arise from joint pain and fatigue.

Since MSM has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, it’s often used as a natural alternative to medications to improve mild arthritis and osteoarthritis related symptoms.

How does MISMO MSM help with exercise recovery?

MSM is an important nutritional supplement for anyone living an active lifestyle, as it delivers the sulphur and methyl nutrients which are key to the structure of healthy cells in muscle and connective tissue.

MSM is valued by bodybuilders, strength, and power athletes because it supports healthy and flexible cell structures and can reduce the inflammation of muscle tissue and joints, In this way, MSM helps new muscle development supports athletic recovery, and can help offset muscle soreness, joint pain and inflammation.

Our muscles, skin, bones, organs, and connective tissue all rely on sulphur and without it, our bodies can not function properly. Sulphur is crucial for the uptake and absorption of vitamins and minerals.  Sulphur is a basic organic component of protein, and important to building new muscle tissue and protecting existing lean mass.

Why do we need to supplement with MSM?

Natural MSM is largely destroyed when our food is processed and can be lost entirely when foods and ingredients are stored for a long period of time. MSM bonds with moisture, so any food which undergoes any sort of dehydration will lack its natural MSM. For these reasons, and because MSM is so critical for almost every athletic function in active bodies, it is important to consistently supplement with a quality MSM nutritional supplement

Where is MSM found and how is it manufactured?

MSM is found in the fluid and tissue of all living organisms. It is present in a variety of foods including raw vegetables, eggs, milk and fish, but is lost through cooking and food processing. One of the richest natural supplies is pine trees and cabbage.

Although MSM is abundant in nature, even the richest natural sources only provide MSM in the level of several parts per million. Commercial extraction of MSM from trees is not possible so a process is undertaken which parallels the natural oxidation that occurs in the marine atmosphere and produces MSM that is chemically identical to that found in nature.

How pure is MISMO MSM?

Every batch of our MSM is rigourously tested by an independent laboratory to ensure the highest quality, minimum 99.99% pure MSM.

How much MISMO MSM should I be taking?

An average dose is between 2 to 6 grams daily. Most people take a teaspoon (approximately 4 grams) daily. If more relief is needed, increase the dose slowly. Can be taken in water or juice after breakfast, although there are no rules as to when you should take MSM.

A word of caution: some people find if they take MSM late in the day, after 4 or 5pm, they do not sleep as well, as it energises them. This is not a general occurrence but worth mentioning.

WARNINGS: If taking Warfarin or strong blood thinners, do not take MSM without your doctor's approval.

Not to be taken by children without a health professional's advice.

BLOOD TESTS: MSM can interfere with the accuracy of the test for liver enzymes by sometimes producing false positive results. It is recommended you cease taking MSM at least 4 days before these blood tests. You can resume after the test.

Is MISMO MSM listed with the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration)?
