Rosacea - Triggers and Alleviation
If you suffer from rosacea, chances are you have never been comfortable with the embarrassing red flare-ups that are just as hard to manage as severe acne. Many people who suffer from rosacea are unaware there are actual triggers that can worsen their rosacea flare-ups.
ROSACEA AND FOOD
Certain foods can trigger or worsen rosacea in some adults. Avoiding or limiting these foods may help improve rosacea symptoms in some people. Be sure to keep a journal to track which foods have an effect on you.
Here are the main foods that can be related to rosacea issues:
- Some dairy including yogurt, sour cream and cheese
- Real chocolate and vanilla
- Nightshade plants such as eggplant and tomato
- Avocados
- Spinach
- Broad-leaf beans such as lima, navy or pea
- Citrus
- Bananas
- Red plums
- Dried fruits such as raisins and figs
- Spicy foods
- Thermally hot foods and beverage
LIFESTYLE
Some of the lifestyle choices you are making can also have an impact on the condition of your skin. For example leading a very stressful life can lead to rosacea flare-ups.
Trying to reduce the stress in your life is important, as well as avoiding anything that can increase your anxiety. Other lifestyle choices such as drinking alcoholic beverages including red wine, champagne, bourbon, beer, gin and vodka can also affect the condition of your skin.
SKINCARE PRODUCTS
Any one with a skin condition should always be conscious of the skin care products they use. Watch for signs your skin care products are causing redness and discontinue use if they do.
For rosacea in particular, alcohol, witch hazel, some fragrances or acetone are known offenders in skin care so avoid these ingredients.
OTHER TRIGGERS
Other triggers can include sun exposure, certain drugs such as vasodilators and topical steroids, menopause and exposure to strong winds or cold and warm environments such as saunas.
TREATING ROSACEA
It's important to treat Rosacea from multiple angles, including topically and through diet and lifestyle choices.
Water
It is essential to drink around 2 litres of water a day. Cool water refreshes and calms the system.
MSM 'nature's beauty mineral' softens skin and help inflammation.
Topical vitamin C will help to restore the collagen support around the dilated blood vessels. The best form is ascorbyl tetra isopalmitate or VCIP, an oil which does not oxidise. It will go a long way towards improving the appearance of spider veins or telangiectasia when combined with Vitamins A and E. Please do not under-rate the benefits!
Hyaluronic Acid restores precious moisture levels. Rosacea creates heat in the skin leading to the loss of vital moisture stores. Supplementing hyaluronic acid not only replaces lost moisture it supplements your body's dwindling supplies. This is a wonderful anti-ageing serum too.
MSM with Aloe Vera gel is a potent mix for all skin problems. Cell Soother contains 15% MSM, the largest amount possible to use in a product. Inflammation is controlled and healing is greatly accelerated.
Rosacea skins tend to build up layers of dead cells which contributes to blemishes, lumps and bumps. This skin type is called congested. Active Face Cleanser is oil, fragrance and soap free, perfect for Rosacea.
This super gentle creamy cleanser may be even more suitable for sensitive skin types than Active Face Cleanser.
Nourishing Cream also contains MSM, Aloe Vera, Shea and Coconut butter. All of these ingredients combine to offer a power pack of benefits to calm irritated skin.
Ultra-Moisturising SPF Sunscreen
Finding a sunscreen that won’t irritate your sensitive skin can be a challenge. Dermatologists recommend that you look for a sunscreen that contains zinc oxide. Ultra Moisturising SPF Sunscreen contains high concentrations of Zinc, MSM and hyaluronic acid for excellent hydration.

Younger and Mature Skin Rosacea Bundles
Rosacea is an inflammatory response very similar to what happens when you bruise or break a bone: the blood rushes to the damaged area to help repair the damage. With rosacea, there aren't broken bones or skin that's bruised, but there is inflammation in the skin and blood vessels and this is how MSM is the saviour for rosacea. It stops it!
