Why the kind of Vitamin C matters

The type of Vitamin C used in serums and creams is extremely important. An oil form of Vitamin C called "ascorbyl tetra-isoplaminate" (or VCIP is a shortened name in the industry) is more effective than other forms of Vitamin C and has proved to keep its potency for 12-18 months. MISMO uses this vitamin C that's in an oil state compared to vitamin C that is water soluble. Ascorbic acid is a "water state form" of Vitamin C found in tablet and powder form. This type of vitamin C is very volatile and oxidises causing the vitamin C to change from an antioxidant which is great for the skin into a free radical toxin. Water soluble Vitamin C can also cause skin to become very sensitive inducing flaking and redness. Choosing an oil form of vitamin C ensures that the vitamin C can do its job for 12 18 months without oxidising or "going off". MISMO also uses this form of vitamin C in Anti-Wrinkle cream, this cream contains the perfect synergy of vitamins A, C and E and has been coupled with hyaluronic acid - another very important ingredient in skin care. Hyaluronic acid acts to plump up the skin from underneath acting like a cushion, helping to eliminate fine lines and even out deeper ones and also helps in preventing them in the first place. Hyaluronic acid has been promoted as a "fountain of youth product. So what do you get when you apply the right kind of vitamin C to the skin? Younger looking skin that is for sure.
