This is a question we get asked quite a lot, "what's special about MISMO skin care?" Great question! 

There is no one more passionate, enthusiastic and thorough about skin care than someone looking to treat their own skin - and that's Irene!

In the early 2000s, our founder, Irene McDonald developed Rosacea. Unable to find skin care which helped her condition, Irene’s research lead her to take matters into her own hands – literally! She learnt about the benefits of organic sulphur (MSM) and experimented with it in her own skin care formulations. MSM was the first piece of the MISMO Skin Care puzzle and little did Irene know then that by incorporating MSM she was already at the forefront of innovative skincare. Irene (with the assistance of two cosmetic chemists) then continued to tweak these formulas and after endless research and testing, MISMO Skin Care was created. 

 MSM is beneficial to our skin in many ways:

Increased Collagen Production - Collagen provides structural support to your skin. The human body produces collagen naturally, but as we age the production declines, leading to sagging wrinkled skin. MSM plays a major role in the production of collagen. Its use can help reinvigorate the collagen process and so taking it can help fight the signs of ageing. 

Smooth Skin - When used with quality cleansing and moisturising products, topical application of MSM can have dramatic effects on the smoothness of the skin, making it tighter with less wrinkles. 

Acne - Collagen is helpful in the treatment of acne and also helps repair acne damaged skin. 

Anti-Inflammatory - MSM can be applied to the skin to reduce redness, swelling and discolouration.
