The Difference Between AHAs and BHAs in Skincare
If you're new to the world of AHAs and BHAs, it can be overwhelming to choose the right product for your skin type and concerns. Both provide a variety of benefits for your skin, including improving skin tone and texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and helping to clear up acne-prone skin.
AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids) are water-soluble acids used in skincare for exfoliating dead skin cells to reveal smoother, brighter skin. AHAs can improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and increase skin hydration but can make skin sensitive to the sun, so it's essential to start slowly and wear sunscreen.
BHAs (beta hydroxy acids) are similar to AHAs but they have a different molecular structure and are more oil-soluble, which makes them better suited for penetrating oily skin and unclogging pores. BHAs can also promote skin cell turnover, leading to a brighter and smoother complexion.
AHA Fruit Mask is suitable for all skin types and provides multiple benefits such as leaving the skin smooth, healthy-looking, and glowing. It contains Fruit Acids and Glycolic Acids that aid in exfoliating the skin, making it beneficial for those with rosacea and acne-prone skin. The AHAs in the mask dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells and the skin, while Jojoba beads assist in removing the cells. The mask also contains Aloe Vera and Kaolin Clay, which possess detoxifying and cleansing qualities as well as calming properties.
Salicylic Acid is a BHA that is used in Active Face Cleanser to help exfoliate the skin and unclog pores. By penetrating into the pores, salicylic acid can help dissolve dead skin cells, excess oil, and other debris that can contribute to the development of blackheads and pimples. Regular use of Active Face Cleanser can help to reduce the appearance of acne and improve the overall clarity and texture of the skin.
