A Natural Day Look With MISMO Skin Minerals

Here's a step-by-step guide to creating a fresh and simple barely-there look using MSMO Mineral Make-Up. Cleanse and moisturise your face before starting.

1. Apply Mineral Primer

The key to a minimal look is to prepare the skin well. Using a primer will make your makeup last longer. Put a dime-sized amount of primer on your fingertips and rub it around. Gently rub the primer into your skin, focusing on the places that get the most oily throughout the day (like your nose, chin, and forehead). Let the primer soak in for 1 to 2 minutes before you move on.

2. Apply Liquid Mineral Foundation or Mineral BB Cream

Using a colour that matches your skin tone, work it into the skin as you go with a buffing brush, kabuki brush or stippling brush. Keep the coverage light for a sheer, no-make-up finish.

3. Apply Concealer (if needed)

Use Mineral Cream Concealer to hide any blemishes and under eye shadows. Apply with your finger or a brush or cotton bud rather than the bullet itself for more accurate results. Tip: When you are applying concealer to the under eye area, only apply to the shadow itself rather than the whole area to avoid the eye looking puffy.

4. Apply Loose Powder Mineral Foundation

To start applying the powder, focus on the spots that collect the most oil throughout the day—your nose, chin, and underneath your eyes. Really press the brush into your face to pat the powder into your skin. Using this motion will help to set the concealer on your face while also giving you more coverage with the foundation. For the rest of your face, you don’t have to use a tapping motion as much as a wiping motion. Use the brush to apply the foundation on your cheeks and forehead in a small circular motion to cover up the rest of your skin. Buff the foundation out on your neck in a circular motion to blend it out and make your face look natural with the rest of your skin.

5. Apply Mineral Eyeshadow

Begin by applying the lightest colour over the eyelid and brow bone. Then, define the eye area with a slightly darker shade across the lid. For more of a defined look, add a deeper colour along the outer lash line and crease. Gently blend with a soft brush.

6. Apply Eyeliner

Apply eyeliner to your upper lid by placing the pencil as close to your lash line as possible and slowly drawing a thin line from the outer corner to the inner corner (use a sharpener to get a nice fine, sharp point). Apply pencil liner to your lower lid. Place the pencil as close to your lash line as possible while avoiding the rims of your eyes. Slowly and gently draw a thin line from the outer corner to the inner corner. Connect the lines only on the outside corner of your eye. Use the tip of your eyeliner to join your upper and lower lines.

7. Apply Fibre Lash Mascara

Apply collagen infused extending mascara (larger tube) onto your lashes from roots to tips. Apply extending fibres (smaller tube) onto your lashes while they are still wet with the extending mascara. Apply another coat of the collagen infused extending mascara to finish. For a more dramatic look, continue to repeat this process several times until the desired effect is achieved. Always finish with the extending mascara.

8. Apply Brow Butter

Dip the angle brush into the butter and when applying start in the center and work your way out to the edges. Blend the brow butter and reshape the brow with the angle brush or spoolie. After filling in your brows, you may notice patches of colour of misplaced hairs. You can correct both issues with a brow brush or spoolie. Pull the brush or spoolie upwards and through your brows several times.

9. Apply Lip Gloss

Led lights inside the lid of the applicator light up your lips as you apply. Use the mirror on the side of the case even in the dark.

Mineral makeup is very subjective and of course there are additional products that some of our customers swear by such as Mineral Highlighter Palette, Translucent Powder, or our recently released Pressed Mineral Bronzer and Pressed Mineral Highlighter.

Most importantly it's essential to find the right colour for your skin tone, so best to start with our Mineral Foundation Samples Bundle which gives you a chance to trial 3 loose powders and 3 liquid minerals to find your perfect match (our pressed foundations are the same shades colours as our loose). We also have sample sizes of other items here too.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions, we'd be happy to assist.
