What's the Difference Between Pure-Crystalline MSM & Ultra-Pure Distilled MSM?
We are often asked the question about the difference between our two MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) products?
We stock both Distilled Ultra-Pure MSM and Pure-Crystalline MSM - both products are pharmaceutical grade quality, but the difference is in how the MSM crystals are formed during the crystallisation stage of the manufacturing process.
Distilled Ultra-Pure MSM involves heating a dissolved MSM solution to create a vapour, with the MSM crystals then being formed as the vapour rises and is condensed inside a distillation column as the vapour cools. The distillation process is repeated 4 times and results in a super purified product. More energy is consumed during the distillation process which is the reason for the higher cost of the distilled version of MISMO MSM. The water content of the Distilled MSM is below 0.1% which is indicative of very high quality and is 99.97% pure.
In contrast, MISMO's Pure-Crystalline MSM is produced using a high-speed centrifuge to remove the water from the dissolved MSM solution with MSM crystals then forming on the inside of the centrifuge.
With both methods of crystallisation, the water used in manufacturing the MSM solution is of the highest quality having been filtered by reverse osmosis to remove impurities before the crystallisation process begins.
